New Teacher Alert! Katherine Wall took her first dance class at the age of six in PEI, and has been in constant motion since. She started dancing intensively at the Doris Sitter School Of Dance in Saskatchewan, where she trained primarily in jazz and acro dance and competed in festivals around the province. In 2016, Katherine moved to Nelson and began dancing with Slava Doval, taking a multitude of classes in contemporary, ballet, and hip hop through Dance Fusion. She was accepted into the LVR Dance Academy in 2021, where she spent two years training in ballet, jazz,
contemporary, and modern techniques while also gaining experience as a contemporary choreographer.
Katherine has had opportunities to participate in masterclasses from Shay Kuebler (Radical System Art), Joshua Beamish (MOVETHECOMPANY), Acacia Schachte (Royal Ballet
Flanders), Joanna Lige (Ballet Kelowna), and Alyssa Marshi (Her Tribal Roots), as well as training in various styles at the Harbour Dance Centre in Vancouver. An avid member of the
local theatre community, Katherine has worked as the Assistant Choreographer for the Capitol Theatre Summer Youth Program for the past two years, choreographing and rehearsing pieces for “Newsies” and “Matilda”.
Although she loves to experiment with many different styles, Katherine’s focus has shifted towards contemporary dance and creative techniques for improvisation. She is incredibly excited to continue pursuing her passion for dance, both as a performer and as a choreographer.
