Ballet 5-7yrs
A fun and engaging class to introduce the foundation of Ballet technique. The class will use centre exercises, movements across the floor, fun games and stretching/strengthening to increase body awareness, alignment, flexibility, and coordination. Students will learn ballet positions and vocabulary and develop creative movement skills in a fun and inclusive atmosphere. This is a very popular class and is an excellent intro to dance.
This Term is longer than the fall one, and runs Jan.9th until April 30th and culminates in the 12th Annual DanceFusion Showcase (Dress Rehearsal April 27th, shows April 28th-30th). There will be a costume fee that will need to be paid and strong attendance through the term is required. Attendance at stage rehearsals and showcase is required as well.
DanceFusion is thrilled to welcome Hilary to the team of teachers this fall, and we are excited for her to share her unique strengths with the dancers here.
Hilary received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance Dance from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Ryerson University). She’s had the opportunity to work with many incredibly talented teachers and choreographers including teachers from The National Ballet of Canada, Kaeja d’Dance, and Toronto Dance theatre and choreographer Hanna Kiel of “Human Body Expressions.”
Hilary also completed her 200 Yoga Teacher Training in 2019.
Hilary’s had the honour of performing at the Paralympic Games opening ceremony, numerous works at Dance Ontario’s Dance Weekend, on Disney channel’s “The Next Step” pilot episode, and in many student and guest choreographed shows while at University.
Hilary’s passions have always been in dance and movement, as well as teaching. She’s been teaching dance for over a decade to dancers of all ages and abilities, around London and Toronto. She’s working to pursue a Bachelors of Education and eventually teach elementary school alongside teaching dance.
